In January, 1983, the NRC issued 10CFR50.49 on environmental qualification of electrical equipment.
Although the NRC has not issued definitive criteria for environ-mental qualification of safety-related mechanical equipment, the Limerick Mechanical Equipment Qualification-Program considers the guidance.provided by the NRC for qualification o f electrical equipment and applies the applicable methodologies to form the basis for mechanical equipment qualification.
The following sections discuss Limerick's conformance to the applicable regulations and regulatory criteria described above.
