Submittal of Plant Unique Analysis Report for Torus Attached Piping Enclosed please find forty (40) copies of the Fermi-2 Long Tenn Prograra Plant Unique Analysis Report for the Torus Attached Piping (PUAR-TAP). This submittal is for your review and responds to Staff requirements provided in the Reference 4 Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) letter and the Safety Evaluation Report (SER) and SER Supplements 1 through 3, Sections 3.8 and 3.10 (see Reference 2).

This PUAR-TAP describes the structural analysis for the Fermi-2 large and small bore torus attached piping, piping supports, related equipment and suppression chamber penetrations. These components were evaluated for the effects of torus motion resulting from a design basis loss-of-coolant-accident (LOCA),

The results of the PUAR-TAP have shown that the loads and

stresses for the large bore piping, the small bore piping attached to large bore piping, the instrument lines, approp-riate torus attached equipment and the suppression chamber penetrations are within the acceptance limits provided in NUREG-0661. As a consequence of the PUAR-TAP analysis, some modifications are required. Edison is proceeding with maximum effort to institute the required modifications. The modifications will be completed in accordance with the commitments reported in the Safety Evaluation (NUREG-0798 Section 3.9.3).

Therefore, the submittal of the PUAR-TAP and the Edison modifications provide a complete reponse to the Staff requirements provided in References (2), (3), and (4).

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. L. E. Schuerman, (313) 586-4207.
