Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS)
Units 1,2, and 3 Docket Nos. STN 50-528/529/530 Security Plan Amendment 36 File: 94 006-493: 94-056-026 Enclosed please find an original and three copies (controlled copy numbers 8-3,8-4, and 8-9) of Amendment 36 to the PVNGS Security Plan. The three controlled copies contain replacement pages for copies of the Security Plan previously submitted to the NRC. In accordance with 10 CFR 50.4(b)(4)(iii), and by copy of this letter, Arizona Public Service Company (APS) is forwarding two controlled copies of Amendment 36 to the Regional Administrator, USNRC Region IV.
This amendment does not decrease the effectiveness of the Security Plan, and therefore, is being made pursuant to 10 CFR 50.54(p). This amendment addresses changes relative to the use of Biometric Hand Geometry readers. Implementation of this program is expected in October 1994. Enclosure 1 to this document provides a summary of changes to Security Plan Amendment 36. The original is provided in Enclosure 2.
APS has determined that the original of the Security Plan, and the replacement pages, contain Safeguards Information and are subject to the controls of 10 CFR 73.21. These pages, so designated, are to be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 2.790(d) and should n_o.t be placed in the Public Document Room.
