- o. DP.50 Docket No. 5 -289 Intergranular Stress Co rosi Cracking The letter and enclosure are in response to your letter of October 30, 1979, requesting responses to seven items concerning defective pipe welds at TMI-I.
As an initial response to item seven, the enclosure summarizes the invest-igation conducted at TMI-I on Intergranular Stress Corrosion Cracking.
However, the enclosure does not represent our final efforts on the issue.
Additional work is being done in the areas of defining the crack causing environment, the mechanism of cracking, and developing repair and surveillance programs.
The response to items 4, 5 and 6 of your October 30, 1979 letter will be forwarded by January 31, 1980. The final report on IGSCC will be submitted upon its completion.
