Dear Mr. Purple:
The Mechanical Engineering Branch (MEB) is conducting a generic evaluation of E-System pipe clamps to ensure that for clamps located at or near welds on elbows the stresses calculated for the piping are within code allowables. The enclosure to this letter provides MEB with information on the manner in which the effects of E-system clamps are considered in the design of Iamerick.
