ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RECEIPT OF THE CUSTOM COMBINED LICENSE APPLICATION AURORA POWERHOUSE AND ASSOCIATED FEDERAL REGISTER NOTICE
Dear Dr. DeWitte:
By letter dated March 11, 2020, you tendered a custom combined license application (COLA) for one micro-reactor to be located at the Idaho National Laboratory, Idaho. This proposed plant is to be designated as the Aurora.
In your March 11, 2020, letter you stated that you were submitting the COLA pursuant to the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 52, Licenses, Certifications, and Approvals for Nuclear Power Plants, Subpart C, Combined Licenses.
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff acknowledges receipt of your application and plans to conduct a review of the application to determine its acceptability for docketing. The staff plans to make its determination on acceptability for docketing by June 5, 2020. To the extent possible, the staff will communicate with you as issues arise during this review.
Enclosed is the notice that will be forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register to inform the public of receipt and availability of the subject application.
If your application is found to be acceptable for docketing, the NRC staff will publish a schedule for review of the Aurora COLA within 90 days of completion of the acceptance review.
