SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE Virgil C.
Summer Nuclear Station, Unit No.
1, has been in the process of continuing the power ascension test program at 50% of rated thermal power (RTP).
Power was reduced from 50% RTP to Mode 2 at 0330 on February 6, 1983, to perform maintenance on reactor coolant drain tank pumps.
Power was reduced from 50% RTP at 2209 on February 15, 1983, (rods on bottom at 0159 on February 16, 1983) to investigate the source of reactor coolant system leakage within Technical Specification limits.
Power was reduced from 50% to 6% on February 19, 1983, to pe rfo rm maintenance on the generator alterex brushes.
The main turbine was tripped to investigate a problem with the #4 stop valve.
Virgil C.
Summer Nuclear Station is presently operating at 50% RTP in anticipation of a steam generator repair outage commencing March 17, 1983.
