On 3/21/91, during the performance of a semi-annual functional test of station seismic instrumentation, it was determined that the longitudinal trace of Triaxial Time-History accoloragraph VR-7863 (channel 3) was not functioning properly.
Subsequent investigation determined that the cause of this malfunction is a failed sensor associated with the channel.
A workorder was initiated to troubleshoot and repair the sensor, however, due to the location of the subject instrumentation (drywell),
repairs can not be completed until the next scheduled or forced outage.
The parts necessary to repair the channel have been pre-staged, necessary workorders have been written, and the affected channel will be repaired at the first outage of sufficient duration to permit a drywell entry and subsequent repair.
Should you have any further questions, please contact Mr. Rick Cowles of my staff, at (609)339-3431.
Sincer ly, s m-
