Dear Sir:
The NRC was notified of a potentially reportable deficiency in Reference (A), an Interim Report was transmitted by Reference (B), a Time Extension was requested by Reference'(C), and a Time-Extension was requested by Reference (D). At that time, it was estimated that a Final Report would be available by March 22, 1983.
Due to the extensive investigation and evaluation required, a revised-Interim Report is attached. It is now expected that this information will be finalized by June 8, 1983, at which time a complete report will be submitted.

.As documented by Combustion Engineering'(C-E) letter _V-CE-20050~
- dated 4/29/82, two (2) ITT Barton Model 763~ pressure transmitters.
l have been installed in-Unit 1-which do not' meet the required-overpressure. range. -The transmitter's range is 0-735 psig and-the C-E overpressure requirement is 2235-2485 psig. The condition is applicable to Pressurizer Restricted Range transmitters tag numbers LPT-103 and PT-104.. An additional four (4) ITT Barton Model 763 transmitters have been delivered to the'jobsite but the disposition for these has not been established.

,c Models 763'and 764 Electronic Transmitters based on thermal non-repeatability at nominal in-containment ambient temperatures (reference-letter V-CE-17362 dated 11/11/83.
II. APPROACH TO AND STATUS OF PROPOSED RESOLUTION ITT Barton has presented a. remedial plan to C-E regarding the r

transmitters (Models 763 and 764).. ThisJand other related items are currently being reviewed by C-E for developing a corrective action
. plan.
C-E will notify-Bechtel'of the review results upon completion.-
