Docket No. 50-285

Dear Mr. Clark:

Technical Specification Changes and Relief Requests for Fort Calhoun Station's 1983-1993 Inservice Inspection Program Section 50.55a(g) of 10 CFR 50 requires licensees to apply to the Commission for amendment of their Technical Speci-fications to conform the Technical Specifications to their upcoming ten-year Inservice Inspection (ISI) program.

For the Fort Calhoun Station (FCS), this application must be submitted six months prior to the September 26, 1983 start of the new ten-year cycle.

An additional request was made by the Commission in its January 6, 1982 letter for the District to submit, on the same schedule, any requests for relief from Commission approved ASME XI code requirements (includes the latest edition and addenda up to September 26, 1982).

The District has determined there are no conflicts between FCS's Technical Specifications and the Commission approved l

ASME XI code requirements.

The District is, however, con-sidering minor Technical Specification changes which would clarify existing Technical Specifications in areas related to the ISI program.

The amendment change application (s), if any, will be submitted to the Commission by July 30, 1983 and are not subject to schedule requirements of 10 CFR 50.55a(g).

The District has been unable to prepare the new ten-year ISI program.

It is therefore impracticable, at this time, to submit relief requests on schedule as requested in the Com-mission's January 6, 1982 letter.

The District will submit kR O

Mr. Robert A.
