NRC INSPECTION AT WNP-3/5 IE REPORT NO. 50-508/82-04 i
VIOLATION A (NONCOMPLIANCE 50-508/82-04/01)
Reference:
Letter, G03-82-1240, Mr. R. S. Leddick to Mr. D. M. Sternberg same subject, dated December 2, 1982.
The referenced letter forwarded the Supply System final report of cor-rective/ preventive actions and date of full compliance for the subject noncompliance (failure to fabricate and install CB&I structures in accordance with Quality Class I).
During Supply System verification of corrective actions, it was found thqt two commitment dates listed in the report were not met as follows:
1)
It was reported that a Certificate of Conformance to the material specification listed on the CB&I drawings would be provided by CD&I for all "A" (excluding A2 and A3) and "B" items by December 15, 1982. The Certificate of Conformance was actually provided by CB&I on April 18, 1983.
2)
It was reported that Table 3.2-1 of the FSAR would be revised by March 30, 1983 to reflect the Quality Class G status of certain specified items.
Since Table 3.2-1 also required extensive revision for additional reasons, it was considered prudent to incorporate all the changes into a single revision. Therefore, the March 30, 1983 date was not met. Due to the impending suspension of work at WNP-3, a date when the revised table can be incorporated into the FSAR cannot l
be established.
However, a SAR Change Request has been initiated and will be processed in accordance with established procedures to assure implementation.
