e POWER AUTHORITY OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK INDIAN POINT NO. 3 NUCLEAR POWER PLANT -

P O. BOX 215 BUCH AN AN N. Y.1o511 TELEPHONE 4 914 739 8200 February 25, 1983 IP-lml-442 Mr. Hilbert W. Crocker Emergency Preparedness and Program Support Region I, USNRC 631 Park Avenue King of Prussia, PA 19406

SUBJECT:

Inspection No. 50-286/82-22

Dear Mr. Crocker:

At the conclusion of the subject inspection it was stated that Ms.

Linda M. Lomonaco of my staff would forward documentation with the changes indicated by Mr. Tere to enable the close-out of two open items.

Since Mr.

Tere was expected to be on vacation the letter and documentation was sent directly to Mr. Cohen on December 16, 1982.

After reading the January 11, 1983 inspection report and having a telephone conversation with Mr. Cohen, it appears the report was written without the input provided to Mr. Cohen.

Since we believe the January 11, 1983 inspection report does not accurately reflect the status of two items (3.07, 50-286/81-05-36 and 4.02, 50-286/82-22-02).

I have enclosed the document sent to Mr. Cohen and request its review and if considered appropriate those items then be closed out.

I thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

Sincerely, John C. Brons Resident Manager LML/dp/1ml-08 a
