Dear Sir:
The March 10, 1983 IE Bulletin 83-03 which concerns failures of check valves u.;ed in water cooling systems for diesel generators required a response from all holders of operating licenses'for nuclear power reactors. A report providing information in response to the required actions specified in Item 4 of the bulletin was to have been submitted to you by June 8, 1983. However, the investigation and the preparation of a report are incomplete at this time.
It is expected that the investigation and report will be completed, reviewed and submitted to you no later than June 22, 1983.
