This letter is in response to your concerns addressed in Generic Letter 83-13 dated March 2,1983 (Clarification of Surveillance Require-ments for HEPA Filters and Charcoal Adsorber Units in Standard Technical Specifications on ESF Cleanup Systems).
We have reviewed our Technical Specification Surveillance Requirements for HEPA filters and charcoal adsorber units and have identified the specifications requiring revision to reflect the required relationship between the guidance provided in Regulatory Guide 1.52, Revision 2, and ANSI N510-1975. In order to clarify this relationship, we will modify the wording in the Surveillance Requirements for testing the HEPA filters and charcoal adsorbers applicable to Section 3/4.7.7, Control Room Emergency Habitabilty Systems and Section 3/4.7.8, Supplementary Leak Collection and Release System.
When the OSC and ORC reviews are complete, we will submit the revi-sions necessary to incorporate the required ceification.
