By letter dated April 26, 1983, Mr. James M. Allan, Acting Regional Administrator, Region I, transmitted to the ,

Applicant a " Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalty" in the captioned proceeding. The notice

, provided, inter alia, that pursuant to the provisions of 10 C.F.R., S2.201, the Applicant should submit its response to your office within 30 days of the date of the notice. The

, letter also specified that consideration be given to extend-

ing the response time for good cause shown, j On May 16, 1983, Troy B. Conner, Jr. of this firm requested that the time for responding to the notice be extended 30 ' days. This request was granted by James M.
Allan, Acting Regional Administrator on May 19, 1983. The i

purpose of this letter is to request a short additional time for the Applicant to complete its response to the notice.

l While the investigation of this matter is essentially l- complete, the additional time is needed to review and edit jl the final response and to coordinate this review with Stone

& Webster. The additional time will also permit discussions

~

with your Staff concerning the corrective actions which are being taken. .For these reasons, the Applicant requests an PDR ADOCK 05000410 g g O PDR

In view of the corrective actions already undertaken to date as noted in the letter from Region I dated April 26, 1983, the extension requested should not pose any problem.
