Dear Mr. Keppler:
This is to confirm my verbal report to your Mr.
E.R. Swanson at 0845 hours0.00978 days <br />0.235 hours <br />0.0014 weeks <br />3.215225e-4 months <br /> on June 3, 1983.
At this time I informed Mr.
Swanson that upon exiting the Unit 2 upper containment through the airlock our Maintenance personnel discovered that a gauge had been removed from the outside wall of the outer airlock door thus providing a vent path from containment to the Aux Building when the inner airlock door is open for entry and egress.
The Maintenance men immediately notified the Operations Department of this problem and proceeded to reinstall the pressure gauge.
Upon reinstallation the gauge fittings were checked for leaks utilizing the snoop technique which revealed no leaks.
As required by Technical Specification 6.9.1.12 a follow-up letter will be submitted within 14 days.
