Subject:

McGuire Nuclear Station Docket No. 50-369

Reference:

RII:PTB 50-369/82-09 1

Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

In Mr. W. O. Parker, Jr.'s May 6, 1982 letter transmitting Duke Power Company's i response to the violation identified in the subject inspection report, it was indicated that the dynamic rod drop test would be rerun at the next available outage, which was then scheduled for Fall, 1982. Further verbal communication with the NRC had specified a commitment date of November 19, 1982. However, a l recent inadvertent unit trip and decision to evolve into a nineteen day outage l

will require the commitment date be changed. The dynamic rod drop test will

, now be rerun during the next available outage, currently scheduled for early l

1983.

Very truly yours, fS bk %)lg i Hal B. Tucker l
