Subject:

Oconee Nuclear Station Docket Nos. 50-269,-270,-287 Corrective Actions for October 19, 1992 Loss of Offsite Power and EDSFI Findings (Inspection Report 50-269,-270,-287/93-02)

Attached is the quarterly update of the status of the commitments resulting from the October 19th Loss of Offsite Power event.

No commitment items on the list were scheduled for completion during the last quarter.

The response to the findings in Inspection Report 50-269,-

270,-287/93-02 included a commitment to perform the switchyard isolation test using the second channel of the switchyard isolation relays.

This item was completed during the U1EOC15 refueling outage.

Finding 6A indicated that MP/0/A/2001/02 would be revised to 1

include specific guidance on check valve inspection and air pressure switch testing.

A minor modification to the system needs to be completed prior to the implementation of the testing.

Therefore, the completion date for this item has been extended to 12/31/94 from 06/01/94.

The response for Finding 6B indicated that the coolers at Keowee would be reviewed and any maintenance or testing revisions will be made as deemed necessary.

The due date has been extended from 07/01/94 to 09/01/94.

The extension is needed to incorporate the coolers into the ISI/IST program.

This is the second extension for this item.

The extensions listed above are the first for the corrective actions unless otherwise specified.

If there are any questions, please contact Steve Benesole at (803) 885-3292 or Michael Bailey (803) 885-4390.

Very Truly Yours, M
