Dear Mr. Seidle:
The purpose of this letter is to provide a status report on the potentially loose stud / nut combinations in the diesel generators at Wolf Creek Gen-erating Station. This matter was reported to Region IV of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on June 14, 1982 by Kansas Gas and Electric company and a subsequent status report was submitted in the Reference.
The rework plan for the inspection and retorquing of the stud / nut combinations in question is being finalized and will be sent to the job site within the next few weeks. The Constructor will review the plan and then schedule the work to be compatible with other work in progress.
The status of the inspection and evaluation will be reported on or before February 9, 1983.
In the interim, please direct any questions concerning this subject to me or to Mr. Otto Maynard of my staff.
