DOCKET NOS. 50-445 AND 50-446 NRC GENERIC LETTER 89-10: " SAFETY-RELATED MOTOR-0PERATED VALVE TESTING AND SURVEILLANCE" - 10 CFR 50.54(F)
Gentlemen:
The NRC issued Generic Letter 89-10. " Safety-Related Motor-Operated Valve Testing and Surveillance," on June 28, 1989. The Generic Letter requerts that, within 5 years from the date of the Generic Letter, each addressue with a construction permit complete all design-basis reviews, analyses, verifications, tests, and inspections that have been instituted in order to comply with items a. through h. of the recommended actions. TU Electric has completed the requirements of Generic Letter 89-10 with the exception noted below.
TV Electric has verified the capability of safety-related Motor Operated Valves (MOVs) to operate. Design basis calculations have been performed, however final reviews to confirm assumptions and to finalize related design documents remain to be completed. These final reviews will be completed by the end of February 1995.
