Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 SB0 Self-Assessment The purpose of this correspondence is to provide advance notification that GPU Nuclear proposes to perform a self-assessment of the Station Black Out (SBO) rule
. (10 CFR 50.63) implementation for the Oyster Creek site. This self-assessment is being proposed as an alternative to an extensive NRC-performed Station Blackout Area-of-Emphasis team inspection.
Currently, the timing of this self-assessment effort is scheduled for January, 1995. This is subsequent to our upcoming 15R outage which is scheduled to begin September 10, 1994 and run for 65 days.
As requested in Inspection Procedure 40501, GPU Nuclear will provide a formal proposal 90 days prior to the announced NRC inspection date of January 1, 1995.
We expect to forward the proposal prior to October 1, 1994.
