Referenc e: April 15, 1983, letter from D. G. Eisenhut, NRC to P. B. Fiedler GPUN (Cycle 10 Refueling Outage Workload)

The purpose of this letter is to update our April 15, 1983 cor re spondence regarding the installation and operability of the Post Accident Sampling System (PASS) at Oyster Creek. On May 12, 1983, a meeting was conducted at Oyster Creek between members of your staf f, NRC Regional Management, and GPUN Management. At that meeting we agreed to the following:

1.

All installation work, which requires the plant to be in a shutdown condition, will be completed during the current refueling outage.

2.

PASS will be fully operational withire six (6) months af ter startup f rom our current refueling outage.

3.

An alternate methodology will be developed and demonstrated during our upcoming May 24, 1983, Emergency Preparedness Drill, that estimates the extent of post accident core degradation.
