Paragraph (g) of 10 CFR 50.49 requires that each holder of an operating license identify the electric equipment important to safety which is already qualified and to submit a schedule for either qualification or replacement of the remaining equipment which is covered by the scope of the rule. Please be advised that the information previously submitted to support licensing of McGuire Unit 2 applies equally to Unit 1, specifically in letters dated February 23, 1983
.and May 12, 1983.
Additionally, by letter dated May 11, 1983 (and a clarification "05000369/LER-1983-018-03, /03L-0:on 830407,following Identification of Inoperable RHR Sys (Nd) Hanger & Snubbers,Sys Walkdown Revealed Addl Hanger Failure.Caused by Nd Sys [[Topic" contains a listed "[" character as part of the property label and has therefore been classified as invalid.. Hangers Repaired & Procedures Revised|letter dated May 20, 1983]]) Duke Power Company provided its response to the Franklin Research Center Technical Evaluation Report. This letter provided qualification schedules and justification for interim operation for certain equipment.
