h' Consumers Power Company Geieral officos: 212 West Michigen Avenue, Jackson, MI 49201 *(517) 788-0550 April 4, 1983 James G Keppler, Administrator Region III US Nuclear Regulatory Commission 799 Roosevelt Road Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 DOCKET 50-255 - LICENSE DPR JALISADES PLANT - AMENDED RESPONSE TO IE INSPECTION REPORT 82-15 Consumers Power Company responded to an item of noncompliance contained in IE Inspection Report 82-15 by letter dated August 23, 1982. That response stated, under Corrective Action to Prevent Recurrence, that; "A new surveillance procedure will be written specifically for comparison of the auxiliary feed-water flow indication."

Upon further evaluation, it has been concluded that different corrective action could be taken which would also prevent recurrence. Therefore, Consumers Power Company is amending its response to IE Inspection Report 82-15 as follows:

CORRECTIVE ACTION TO PREVENT RECURRENCE The schedule for Technical Specifications Surveillance Test MO-24, given in Administrative Procedure 9.22, has been changed from one week after start-up to:

a) prior to a primary coolant temperature of 325* for the electric motor driven auxiliary feedwater pump, and b) prior to reactor criticality for the steam driven auxiliary pumps.
