Enclosed for your information is a press release issued today by The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company announcing a delay of up to twelve months in the projected fuel load date for Unit 1 of the Perry Nuclear Power Plant. The previous schedule called for fuel load in late 1983. The new fuel load date might be as late as December 1984.

The coccercial operation data and total cost of the Perry project are presently being evaluated.

  • CEI owns 31.1% of the project and will receive a corresponding percenta6e of the electricity generated. Ohio Edison, and its subsidiary Pennsylvania Pcntar, own 35 2%, Dcquesne Light,13 7% and Toledo' Edison,19 9%.
