Docket No. 50-285
Dear Mr. Clark:
License Amendment Application for the Fort Calhoun Station Cycle 8 Reload The subject application, submitted to the Commission on November 22, 1962, provided supporting analyses based upon a Cycle 7 fuel burnup of 10,500 MWD /T.
This burnup was consistent with an expected refueling outage start date of January 4, 1983.
- However, as a result of a main turbine generator failure, the Fort Calhoun Station refueling commenced a month earlier than anticipated, at a Cycle 7 burnup of 9,725 MWD /T.
The lower Cycle 7 burnup required the District to verify the existing analyses to ensure that they were still bounding for Cycle 8.
This verification process identified the need for a change to the subject application, as related to the Technical Specification limit on the total planar radial peaking factor.
Accordingly, please find attached the District's replacement pages 1-2, 2-57a, and Figure 2-9 to the November 22, 1982 application.
A supplemental justification for these changes in also provided.
Since' rely,
