BRUNSWICK : STEAM ELECTRIC PIANT, UNIT NO, 2 DOCKET NO. 50 324/ LICENSE NO. DPR.62 WITHDRAWAL OF REQUESTS FOR LICENSE AMENDMENTS ONE TIME EXTENSION OF 18-MONTH BATTERY SURVEILIANCES AND 18-MONTH SURVEILLANCE INTERVAL EXTENSIONS Centlemen:
-_On February 19, 1991 (NLS 91 037) and on March 28, 1991 (NLS 91 087), Carolina
' Power _& Light Company requested changes to the Technical Specifications for
.the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Unit 2.
The first request sought a one cime only extension of the 18 month surveillance interval for the 125 volt batteries and char 6 cts as required by Technical Specifications 4.8.2.3.2,c and 4.8.2.3.2.d..The second reqmst sought a one time-only extension of the 18-month interval for certair, surveillance requirements associated with ECCS
= Actuation Instrumentation and the Service Water System.
The intent of these amendment requests was to eliminate the need for a mid cycle surveillance soutagelon Unit 2.
On March 29,1991,: Unit 2 entered an outage, during which the surveillances associated with the February 19, 1991 and March 28, 1991 amendment requests will be performed. As such, there-is no longer a need for the requested surveillance. requirement extensions.
Therefore, Carolina Power 6 Ligt Company is withdrawing.these two license amendment requests.-
