Dear Sir:
In response to the open item regarding the Seabrook turbine inspection frequency, we commit to one of the following conditions:
1)
Adopt a turbine maintenance program, with schedules and procedures recommended by the manufacturer based on turbine missile generation probability and approved by the NRC, within three years of the issuance of the OL, or 2)
Perform a turbine inspection prior to power escalation subsequent to completion of the second refueling outage. The results of this inspection will serve as the basis for defining a long term turbine maintenance program to be approved by the NRC.
We plan to comply with the guidance of SRP 10.2 until the time that we can provide an acceptable technical justification for an exception.
The above commitment will be incorporated in OL Application Amendment 49.
