Letter from W. C. Marsh (SCE to Document Control Desk (NRC),
Ninth Edition of the Integrated Implementation Schedule, San Onofre' Nuclear Generating Station Units 2 and 3, dated February 23, 1994.
The purpose of this letter is to notify the NRC that all the safety significant Detailed Control Room Design Review (DCRDR) design changes have been completed. Control room design reviews were required by NUREG-0737, Clarification of TMI Action Plan Requirements (Reference 1).
By Reference 2, SCE transmitted the DCRDR supplemental report to the NRC.
The DCRDR effort identified several Human Engineering Discrepancies (HEDs) and the design changes that would be implemented to correct these HEDs. An NRC SER (Reference 3) provided the NRC's concurrence that all outstanding commitments regarding completion of the DCRDR had been satisfied and approved SCE's plan for the correction of the identified HEDs.
Edison has completed all of the DCRDR related control room modifications with one exception - the relabeling of panel CR-61.
This relabeling is not safety significant since the indication and controls located on this panel are nonsafety-related.
Edison will complete CR-61 label changes concurrent with other modifications being made to upgrade panel CR-61 to Edison's current control room design standard. All work on this panel will be completed by J
4/29/94, as noted in Reference 4.
