10 CFR 21 Defects Affecting Clinton Power Station
Dear Mr. Jablcncki,
In response to your telephone conversation with our R.D. Weber on December 1, 1982 (Ref: Record of Coordination, Y-12943, 1606-L, dated December 2, 1982), Illinois' Power is placing into effect a system which notifies the NRC (Region III) of those 10 CFR Part 21 defects that affect Clinton Power Station and which were previously reported to the Commission by others (vendors, contractors, etc.).
This system will be reflected in our procedures which implement the requirements of 10CFR21, by February 1, 1983.
To summarize this subject, the following 10 CFR Part 21 defects which affect Clinton Power Station have been reported by others to the NRC and are considered "open" at this time:
1.
Grounding of flexible conduit in PGCC.
Reported to the US NRC, Office of I&E, Washington, DC on 10/29/80 by General Electric Co.
2.
Divisional separation in NSPS power distribution panel.
Reported to the US NRC, Office of I&E (Region V) on 8/7/80 by General Electric Co.
3.
RPV water level transmitters and trip units.
Reported to the US NRC, Office of I&E, Washington, DC on 8/19/81 by General Electric Co.
4.
Coaxial cable supplied by Rockbestos (Cat. No. RSS-6-104).
Reported to the US NRC, Office of I&E, Washington, DC on 5/13/81 by General Atomics.
5.
Hipe settings on HFA relays.
Reported to the US NRC, Office of ISE, Washington, DC on 7/28/82 by General Electric Co.
