Crystal River Unit 3 Docket No. 50-302 Operating License No. DPR-72 NUREG-0737, Item II.E.1.2 Auxiliary (Emergency) Feedwater System Upgrade
Dear Mr. Stolz:
Florida Power Corporation (FPC) has received and reviewed your letter on the subject item dated September 27,1982 (received November 29,1982).
Your Safety Evaluation Report (which was withdrawn on November 15, 1982) approved the Crystal River Unit 3 (CR-3) Emergency Feedwater Initiation and Control (EFIC) System with the proviso that FPC commit to provide indication in the CR-3 control room when the automatic initiation capability of the EFIC system is overridden. FPC hereby commits to install such indication consistent with the installation of the EFIC System which is currently scheduled for Refuel V.
The Refuel V installation is presently being scheduled. Because of the large amount of work to be completed in Refuel IV for other plant modifications dealing with NUREG-0737, some of the EFIC-related outage modifications originally scheduled for RefuelIV (as stated in our June 30,1982 letter) have been moved to Refuel V.
