Dear Commissioner Selin:
A recent Associated Prese story (Chicago 3-94) indicates that at least ten boiling water reactore designed by GE have developed internal cracks which could result in serioue problems, even core meltdown, in the course of an unusual event.
I understand that Niagara !ohawk's Nine tile 2 reactor has been inspected for euch problems and been found to be OK.
When will the core shroud and reactor internal components be inspected at Nine
'Ille 1 and the :?ew York Power Authority's Fitzpatrick plant?
When will 'Iine ':ile l's steel dry well liner be inspected for corrosion?
Pleoce send me the schedule for all these inpections.
Since.:cv, 'iork currently hac over 7,000MW of excess capacity at peak demand, it would seen prudent to err on the side of safety if any errore are to be made.
