In Mr. R. T. Carlson's memorandum dated June 4,1980, information was 7
requested regarding inadequate nondestructive examinations perfonned by Conam.
Since Mr. Carlson's request, Conam's contract was cancelled and all of the work performed by them has been redone.
Details of the inspection concerning this subject are contained in attached Inspection Report No. 99900509/81-02,Section I.B. of the Details.
We plan no further action on this item.

in addition prior to the use of the DYWlDAG_ Threadbar System with unstagger splices, pro, vide the following information for the staff's review an (3)
Statistical sumary of test data which substantiates that the strain ceasured over the fuli length of the connector at 90% of yield does not exceed the strain of an unspliced bar by more than 50%;
(4)
Sample. calculations indicating that the stress levels in the reinfore-ing bars are below 50% of the specified yield strength under all of the unstaggered splices is intended. applicable load condit at least a typical joint situation, such as a wall-floor junction.These These calculations should include the complete procedures and assu used in the analysis to arrive at the stress levels in the reinforcing bars.
Also provide sketches showing the details of the reinforcing; (5)
Tensile test data on spliced, unstaggered specimens consisting of a d.
