'Mr. Russell, e

In Reference (1), Commonwealth Edison Company (CECO) documented the l

compsetion of the Quad Cities Station Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR)

Rebaseline Project. At that time, CECO indicated that the annual update of the UFSAR

'(current through December 1991) would be forwarded to the NRC on or before June 30, 1992.

In Reference (2), CECO requested NRC review and concurrence of a proposed CECO j

i' policy for submittal of revisions / updates to the UFSAR for each CECO nuclear station. CECO

)

developed this proposed policy to clarify the implementation of the October 1,1992 revision j

of 10 CFR 50.71(e)(4). This revision to the Code of Federal Regulations modified the l

schedule requirement for submittal of updates to the UFSAR. Previously, licensees were i:

required to submit an annual update to the UFSAR. However, the revised regulation allowed an extension to this schedule up to a maximum of 24 months between submittals. In Reference (3), the NRC concurred with the proposed CECO policy for implementation of the revised regulation.

This letter provides formal notification of CECO's completion of the 24 month update (June 30,1994 due date for submittal) of the Quad Cities Station UFSAR. This update is current through December 1993. In accordance with 10 CFR 50.4(b)(6), CECO is providing eleven copies of the replacement FSAR pages to the NRC Document Control Desk and one copy each to the Regional Administrator and the Senior Resicient inspector. The replacement FSAR pages for each of the required copies is included as an Enclosure to this letter. The Enclosure also includes a summary of the changes.
