GPU Nuclear committed in Reference i to upgrade the Reactor Building structure by adding cross braces to the roof framing. Reference 1 also identified the wind speed and associated probabilities for (1) FSAR design, (2) the pre-modification (existing) configuration, and (3) the post-modification configuration.
GPU Nuclear has completed the modifications to the Reactor Building roof (i.e.,
addition of double angle cross braces to the bottom chord of the Reactor Building roof i
framing) necessary for resolution of SEP Topic 111-2, " Wind and Tornado Loadings",
Reference 2. In the course of performing these modifications, missing and loose Reactor 9406290269 940620 PDR ADOCK 03000219

i Building roof bolts and sway brace deficiencies were discovered. GPU Nuclear has determined, based upon review of design calculations and engineering judgement, that the acceptable wind speed and associated probabilities for the pre-modification con 6guration were not significantly affected. All deficiencies were corrected during the modi 0 cation process and the Oyster Creek Reactor Building roof can now withstand wind speeds of at least 190 mph.
