Docket No. 50-219 Operational Quality Assurance Plan. Revision During a meeting on February 24, 1994 GPU Nuclear presented an outline of a proposed Quality Assurance (QA) reorganization.
The GPU Nuclear Operations Quality Assurance (0QA) Plan has been revised to reflect this reorganization of functional responsibilities.
All functions currently performed by the QA Department will be retained.
In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.54(a) GPUN conducted a formal review of the changes to the 0QA Plan. That review concluded that the proposed changes do not constitute a reduction of commitment and continue to
'j be consistent with Appendix 'C' of the 00A Plan and Reg. Guide 1.28/ ANSI N45.2-1977.
Many of the functions currently performed by the Quality Assurance Department will be incorporated into a new Nuclear Safety Assessment Department.
The few remaining functions will be transferred to existing line organizations.
Independent assessments of the effectiveness of these groups and the adequacy of the programs will be performed by the Assessment organization.
In addition, those positions which require certification will be qualified to the same standards.
On the basis of that analysis, GPU Nuclear intends to implement the reorganization effective April 30, 1994.
