Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station Docket No. 50/395 Operating License No. NPF-12 Technical Specification 3/4.6.5 " Combustible Gas Control - Hydrogen Monitors"
Dear Mr. Denton:
South Carolina Electric and Gas Company requests that temporary relief be granted on the subject Technical Specification in order to allow entry into Mode 2 under the Action Statement for initial criticality:
One of the two containment hydrogen moni-tors is operable.
The second monitor is inoperable due to de-fective equipment for which replacement parts cannot be pro-cured in a timely manner.
Since this Technical Specification is
~
the critical path restraining item for entry into Mode 2 the above described relief will prohibit unnecessary delay of initial criticality.
The inoperable monitor will be repaired prior to October 27, 1982.
Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated.
Very truly yours, f2
