AEC Docket No. 50-335 - St. Lucie Unit No. 1 (Formerly Hutchinson Island)

Dear Mr. Muller:

Enclosed herewith are two hundred (200) copies of Supplement NO. d to Florida Power & Light Company's Hutchinson Island Environmental Report.

One hundred (100) additional copies are being held as requested and will be forwarded upon request.

This supplement describes a third transmission line crossing Indian River in conformance with current approved permits with the Depart-rent of the Army Corps of Engineers and the State of Florida Internal Improvement Board.

The St. Lucie property has the potential of being used for the siting of additional power generating facilities.

Regardless of whether subsequent units are nuclear or conventional, y

L we have determined, from the standpoint of system reliability, to V

provide additional transmission capability for the site.

Concurrent construction of the three lines will substantially reduce the environmental impact of construction activities since only one entry oC the Indian River will be required.

The line wil3 be con-structed along the same right of way planned for the two transmission lines previously described in the environmental report and will be routed between the other two lines.

We believe that the incremental environmental impact of the third line will be de minimis and, there-fore, it will not result in any change in the conclusions contained in the AEC's Draft Environmental Statement dated September 1972.

The following pages of our Environmental Report are replaced by this supplement:
