Duke Power Company hereby tenders it.s application for its proposed Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 % accordance with Section 2.101 of Code of Federal Regulations .:rie 10. This filing includes three signed original copies, fif teen conformed copies of the Appli-cation, fif teen copies of the Preliminary Safety Analysis Report, and C fifteen copies of the Environmental Report.

k' Particular attention has been given to the " Standard Format and Content of Safety Analysis Reports for Nuclear Power Plants" of February, 1972 with the firm belief that this standard format will facilitate your review of the Catawba Nuclear Station Preliminary Safety Analysis Report.

Standardization of the nuclear portion of the plant is in line with the Commission's request, and the considerable similarity between Catawba and William B. McGuire Nuclear Stations should also materially reduce the review time.
