Limerick Generating Station Units 1 and 2 Request for Information on Emergency Operations Facility

Dear Mr. Schwencer:

In accordance with Dr. Harvey Abelson's verbal request of December 3, 1982 for information on the Limerick Emergency Operations Facility (EOF), we are pleased to provide you with the answers to the following questions:

1. On what date did Philadelphia Electric Company respond to generic letter 81-10, dated 2-18-81, on EOF's?

Answer:

March 20, 1981 via letter from J.

From the emergency plan, what is the permanent EOF location?

Answer:

As stated in section 7.1.2 of the Emergency Plan, the EOF is located at Philadelphia Electric Company's Plymouth Service Building, 17 miles from the site.

3. What type of structure is the EOF?

Answer:

The EOF will be located in the windowless basement of an existing concrete and steel framed masonry building.

4. What is the protection factor of the EOF?

Because of the EOF's distance from l

the site, no protection factor is l

being identified.

Answer:

The structure is complete.

All construction will be complete by September, 1983.

6. What is the status of construction of the structure only?

Answer:

The structure is complete.

7. Are HEPA filters installed at the EOF?

Answer:

No, because of the distance from the site HEPA filters are not required by NUREG-0696.

8. Where is the permanent back-up EOF?

Answer:

There is no back-up EOF.

9. Where is the interim primary EOF located?

Answer:

As the plant is not operating, there is no interim primary EOF.

Answer:

There is no interim back-up EOF.
