Docket No. 50-362 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 3 This letter confirms verbal notification on October 21, 1982 of a condition discovered in construction which is considered potentially reportable in accordance with 10CFR50.55(e).

This condition involves the governor output voltage erratic behavior causing momentary speed changes of the diesel generator, 3G002. The unit is manufactured by Stewart-Stevenson, Houston, Texas.

We are performing an evaluation of this condition and will submit an appropriate report in accordance with 10CFR50.55(e)

(3) if the condition is determined to be reportable. If you have any questions or required additional information, please let me know.

The condition is under investigation on Unit 2.
