SUMMARY
OF A PUBLIC MEETING WITH SOUTHERN NUCLEAR OPERATING COMPANY ON MARCH 5, 2020 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a Category 1 public meeting with Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) on March 5, 2020. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss SNCs Inspections, Tests, Analyses, and Acceptance Criteria (ITAAC) Closure Notification (ICN) on completion of ITAAC 2.5.02.11 [Index Number 550] for Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP) Unit 4.
The meeting notice can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML20042C701. The ICN can be found at ADAMS Accession No. ML20034E949. The meeting notice is also posted on the NRC public website.

V. Hall Summary of Meeting:
On March 5, 2020, staff from the NRC conducted a public meeting with representatives from SNC to discuss the ICN on completion of ITAAC 2.5.02.11 (Index Number 550) for VEGP Unit
- 4. The NRC staff provided feedback that the ICN implies that the Unit 4 protection and safety monitoring system (PMS) has been installed and tested; where the Unit 4 PMS is not yet installed. The processes used for PMS installation tests referenced in the ICN were demonstrated for VEGP Unit 3 and not Unit 4.
The NRC staff indicated that referencing the VEGP Unit 3 procedures to complete the VEGP Unit 4 ITAAC is acceptable, because the process is identical for the Unit 4 PMS. SNC recognized that, although its internal documentation details the use of VEGP Unit 3 inspections for the VEGP Unit 4 ICN, the ICN for Unit 4, ITAAC 2.5.02.11 does not clearly explain it.
SNC indicated that it had revised the ICN for ITAAC 2.5.02.11 and plans to submit it by March 6, 2020.
At the conclusion of the discussion, there was an opportunity for the public to provide comments and ask questions. There were no comments or questions from the public.
