to USNRC dated August 4, 1990 Gentlemen:

On September 28, 1990 TV Electric submitted, via Reference 1, a schedule for implementation of design modifications to remove local switches for essential lighting. This submittal was prepared in response to an August 29, 1990 request by NRC Region IV via Reference 2.

The following provides the status of these activities.

For essential lighting outside containment in accessible areas, removal of three-way local switches and the unique identification of single pole switches will be completed no later than March 31, 1991.

This schedule is revised in consideration of parts availability and resources.

This change was discussed between Mr. Bill Johnson. NRC Resident Inspector and Mr. Richard Baker, TV Electric during the week of December 17, 1990.

For the remaining essential light".g. including that inside containment, we have completed walkdowns and iden'ified that there are no three way local switches inside containment. The identification and removal of remaining three way switches and identificatTin of single pole switches will be completed by the end of the first refueling outage as previously scheduled.
