. DOCKET # 50 317 CA1 VERT CLIFFS - 1*dIT 1 December 12, 1990

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE November 1990-The unit began the month at 100% power (850 MWe).

Power was reduced to 90% from 1408, 10 November until 0350, 12 Noveinber for Main Condenser Waterbox cleaning and Main Turbine Control Valva testing.

Power was reduced to 91% from 0345 to 2350 on 17 November to roll tubes in 11B Main Conden i Waterbox.

Duting the month, there were indications of nitrogen leaks from 11B and 12B Safety Injection Tanks (SIT) Several unsuccessful attempts were made to locate and isolate the leaks.

At 2015 on 30 November, power reduction was commenced in preparation for a maintenance outage to safely investigate and repair the nitrogen leaks and add oil to 12B Reactor Coolant Pump. The outage is expected to last for approximately two weeks.

The unit ended the month at 43% power (320 MWe).
