[NSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-338/94-06 AND 50-339/94-06 REPLY TO A NOTICE OF VIOLATION We have reviewed your letter of April 14,1994, which referred to the inspection conducted at North Anna Power Station from March 14,1994 through March 18,1994, and reported in Inspection Report Nos. 50-338/94-06 and 50-339/94-06. Our reply to the Notice of Violation is attached.

In your leuer that transmitted the Notice of Violation, you expressed concern because the violation is repetitive in nature and you expect licensees to learn from their past failures and take effective corrective actions. We agree that this issue requires additional attention.

The improper marking, control, and storage of safeguards information on aperture cards was self identif " during a Nuclear Administrative Services (NAS) - Security Self-Assessment.

' Self-Assessments are performed periodically to identify strengths and we within cecurity.

During the third quarter 1993 self-assessment, a rev

,erture card and drawing repositories was performed to determine if there t

.y vulnerability to uncontrolled safeguards information in these repositories. This was done as an additional corrective action as a result of the violation that was issued in NRC Inspection Report 92-30 dated December 23,19U In addition to the corrective actions already taken that are provided in this Reply to tM Notice of Violation, we will continue to review safeguards information controls on a periodic basis as part of our self-assessrnent process.
