Containment Ice Condenser Ice Bed Ice Weight Reduction Supplement Gentlement My letter of June 7, 1990 submitted (pursuant to 10 CFR 50.4 and 50.90) 1,1 cense Amendment Requests to Appendix A. Technical Specifications (T.S.),
of Facility Operating Licenses NPF-9 and NPF-17 for McGuire Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2, respectively.
The requested amendments reduce the required ice bed ice weight of the containment ice condenser, and correct an error in the T.S.'s Bases section. The " Notice of Consideration of Issuance of Amendments to Facility Operating Licenses and Prope.ed No Significant.

the requested amendments was published in the Federal Register on August 8, 1990.
Included in the above referenced submittal as Attachment 2A in support of the requested changes was "The McGuire Nuclear Station FSAR 1989 Containment Pressure Calculation".- Please find attached an updated FSAR Table 6.2.1-16 pertaining to ECCS and spray flow rates assumed in the FSAR Section
'6.2.1.3.4 McGuire containment pressure calculation. This-updated table does not-alter or invalidate any information contained in the June 7th submittal, but rather contains supplemental information regarding the referenced A that 1s being provided for your information and use. This

information will also be included in the applicable annual FSAR update along with the rest of the Attachment 2A information.

Jun' 7. 1990 submittal which is currently under review and is bounded by the
. contents of that submittal, the previous amendments, justification and safety analysis, and-significant hazards considerations remain valid.
