In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR Parts 50.59 and 50.90 we are.

enclosing 40 copies of a requested amendment to license DPR-33 to change the technical specifications of Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant unit 1 (Enclosure 1).

This proposed change revises the unit 1 cycle 5 MCPR values from those submitted by my letter to you dated April 29, 1981 (TVA BFNP TS 161) and as approved by Amendment No. 76 to unit 1 license No. DPR-33 General Electric reperformed the transient analysis because of an error discovered in the active fuel length used in the original cycle 5 analysis. The conservative values of MCPR from transient recalculation have been administratively-imposed. We request approval of the proposed change by November 19,'1982.

In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR Part 170.22, we have determined this proposed amendment to be Class III. This classification is based on the fact that the proposed amendment involves a single safety issue which does not involve a significant hazard consideration. The remittance for $4,000 is
