Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
Please reference our response dated May 17, 1982 to R. C. Lewis' April 15, 1982 letter to H. G. Parris regarding Report Nos. 50-259/82-12, -260/82-12, and -296/82-12 and our response dated December 7, 1981 to your November 6, 1981 letter to H. G. Parris regarding Report Nos. 50-259/81-19, -260/81-19, and -296/81-19. This letter is to request an extension to the August 31, 1982 corrective action date for item C.2 of the Appendix A (50-259, -260, -296/82-12-01) attached to your April 15, 1982 letter and for item 25 of the Appendix C (50-259, -260, -296/81-19-35) attached to your November 6, 1981 letter.
These extensions are discussed as follows.
Appendix C, item 25 (-259, -260, -296/81-19-35)
Due to changes in BWR Owners' Group guidelines and NRC policies, a January 1, 1983 extension or our commitment date is needed. Revisions to emergency operating instructions are ongoing and some procedures have already been revised.
Item C.2 (259, 260, 296/82-12-01)
A November 1, 1982 extension of our commitment is requested because SI 4.6.H will not be needed until the end of the current outage which is expected to be around December 1, 1982.
These extensions were discussed with NRC-0IE Inspector Ross Butcher on August 31, 1982. If you have any questions, please call Jim Domer at FTS 858-2725.
