20555 Perry Nuclear Power Plant Docket Nos. 50-440; 50-441 SER Open Items - 13 and 14 Instrumentation and Control Systems
Dear Mr. Schwencer:
The following schedule information is provided for the SER Outstanding issues
(#13 and #14) regarding loss of non-class IE instrumentation and control power system bus and control system failure. These questions were identified in a NRC letter dated May 11, 1981, and further discussed in meeting with the Instrument and Control Branch on February 17 and 18,1982.
As described in the meetings, we have initiated a detailed study to ensure the effects of control system or non-class IE bus failures would not result in adverse sequences beyond those previously analyzed or operator or safety system capability.
Our original response to question 421.64 in a letter dated March 22,1982, indicated the results of this study would be provided by August 20, 1982. Due to an increase in the scope of the study, it is necessary to request an extension of the date for submittal of our final results. These will be provided by December 10, 1982.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Very truly yours, s
Dalwyn R. Davidson Vice President System Engineering and Construction DRD:mb cc: Jay Silberg, Esq.
