In tccordance with 100RSO.SS(e), the flRC, Regien II, was notified on Novemoer 20, 1973 that spare containment pipe penetritions are not sealed at 5uth ends 3s stated in the FSAR Secticn 5.2.4.3, Subsection 4 Page 6.2-125.

We nave determined that there are 23 spare penetrations all of which have a welded cap on the inside centainment end only.

Our engineering evaluation to determine the best corrs:tive action is still in progress. This 30-day recort shall he censic'ered an interim report.

A final report c'ccun:enting the :neasures to be taken will be submitted by February 1, 1979.
